EAGG visit - 12th July 2023

On the 12th July 2023 the EAGG were invited to visit Tinkers Farm - and what a treat it was.

The main gardens consisted of a potager which was as pretty as it was practical, a lawn surrounded by beautiful herbaceous borders, an ornamental pool garden and a gravel garden with shaped bay trees. In front of the house were some delightful flower beds and a parterre, which set off the 17th century cottage perfectly. All of this was surrounded by meadows, an orchard and a wildlife pond.

There was so much to see that having been round once we had to go round again! For me the valuable lesson was the power of planning the layout and creating focal points.

If that wasn’t enough Denny and Peter had also provided some delicious cakes and drinks, which we took to various seating areas and absorbed the beauty around us once again.

It was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and I have come away inspired with so many ideas for our garden.

Thank you Denny and Peter for sharing what has obviously been a labour of love.
