Visit to Two Gardens - MANOR FARM HOUSE and THE BRAMBLES BY CAR
This is a visit to two private gardens, not generally open to the public, so a treat is in store! John Dyter’s lovely garden in Hasketon, wraps around old farm buildings and the house, which was converted from three cottages in the 1930’s. There are specimen trees and shrubs, a farm pond with a Monet style bridge, waterlilies, a small Rosemary Verey style pottager, and, in the early stages, a rose tunnel. John describes it as ‘ a really old nurseryman’s garden’. John will provide us with facilities, teas and coffees’ and we will eat our picnic lunches there. Just 15 minutes drive away is our second garden of the day.
The Brambles, belongs to Linda Weeks, and is a glorious celebration of roses, borders and ponds, set within the grounds of a picture perfect thatched house. Linda will be on hand to answer questions, and is providing tea and cakes before we leave for home.
N.B. This trip is slightly different from some we have organised previously. There will be a 15 seater minibus for those who are unable to drive, please see the separate notification for the minibus. For every one else there will be a car share and the cost is £18, these tickets are available on the website here. Early booking would be helpful. The drive time from Long Melford is about an hour if that helps, the aim is to arrive at about 10.15 am.
So - Minibus and garden, at £28 book on the other notification of this trip. Car share tickets at £18 - book here. PLEASE BRING A PICNIC LUNCH.
